The 420 Games Returns Home to San Francisco August 27
The 420 Games began a few years back in Golden Gate park with a fun run, beer garden and concert by reggae star Pato Banton. The reason? Getting rid of the stoner stigma and the negativity created by the media about the use of cannabis as it relates to an active lifestyle. Created by Jim McAlpine, The 420 Games are now in six cities. Each race includes giveaways from sponsors, a post-race yoga session, beer gardens and live music. McAlpine is also in the process of opening the very first Cannagym with former NFL star Ricky Williams.
"Having Ricky Williams as a partner is f***ing awesome because he exemplifies a successful and very athletic person who also uses cannabis,” Jim McAlpine, co-founder of The 420 Games, told Complex. “Ricky is as smart as he is a talented athlete. And that is a big statement.” (source: 420 Games Blog)

This will be the third time I have participated in the games and I look forward to this event each and every year. It is great to see the participation grow and I deeply believe we are turning a corner on the exposing the true benefits of cannabis use.
