So we heard about this Korova Black Bar that supposedly contained 1000mg of THC in it. Naturally intrigued we put it through its paces by getting Chewy to eat a whole one in one go.
We also had CW Analytical test its potency and screen it for microbiological safety.
Although we know THC can't harm anyone, we were still a bit apprehensive. 1000mg is alot of THC (20 doses) and we feared Chewy might fall asleep one hour into the challenge leaving us with a very short and rather boring video of him in the fetal position drooling all over himself.
To our amazement, quite the opposite happened. Chewy seemed to handle the bar just fine and rarely seemed like he had smoked more than one joint if anything. We actually had alot of activities planned for him that we weren't even able to use given his un-intoxication. As much of a bummer this was on the day, we actually could not have asked for a better result.
What this video really highlights is how tolerance can differ person to person. I myself had a tiny corner of the bar (smaller than my thumbnail) this past weekend and I am pretty sure I left a good portion of my mind in the theatre where World War Z was showing.
What is even more impressive is the fact that the bar actually tested at 1100mg THC. Which any patient or stoner would appreciate from their provider. It also passed the micro-biological screening with flying colors which is much more rare than you would think in edibles, says Emily Schreuder of CW.
So before you judge this bar on it's absurdity, keep in mind that it is not being marketed as, nor intended as a party bar. It has a dosage that could either be portioned, saving trips to the dispensary, or eaten as a whole for people with Chewy's tolerance. Although using it as party bar makes just as much sense to a lightweight like myself. There is no way in hell I could eat even a quarter and be ok, but there's enough for everyone to have a taste without me having to have a whole edible for everybody.
