The PUFFiT 2 is a stealthy smoking device designed to keep you off the radar from the watchful eyes of the law. The PUFFiT 2 boasts duel function vaporization for both dry herb blends and concentrates.
Upon opening the box, you will find the PUFFiT 2 inhaler perfectly packed. To be honest, I hadn't heard or seen the first PUFFiT, so when I saw this in the box, I thought, "Is this the right package?" The PUFFiT 2 literally looks like a real inhaler. If being incognito is of high importance in your smoke routine, the PUFFiT 2 may be just what you're looking for.
All contents inside the box are as shown. They provide ample cleaning wipes that really come in handy when cleaning out your concentrates after use. The screens provided are nice to have as well. They will help to keep the unit and chambers clean throughout use. Bottom right: the long metal tool and coil are your cleaning tools, and your concentrate coil.
Note: The concentrate chamber does become messy, so I recommend cleaning it after each use.
This is how the heat chamber mounts and locks to the battery unit. Line up the three teeth and give an eighth of a turn to lock it into place. There should be no wiggle or play between these two units.
When fixed together, the heat chamber and battery should look as such. The white button you see on the front is your heat-preference light. Press to range between temperatures from 320 degrees to 415 degrees Fahrenheit. Fitted together, you can now slide the unit down into the body (the inhaler). The temperature select button should face you when your mouth is on the piece.
In hand and ready to rock, I'm stoked off the PUFFiT 2. From the unbox to the build up, I found it very straightforward. Now as far as function goes—well, for me it just didn't seem to go too far. The PUFFiT 2 did not and could not produce ample smoke or effects after repeated use. Trials were conducted on all heat levels and on both dry herb and concentrate functions. Again and again, I was only able to squeeze out small puffs throughout the cycle. Not very ideal when you're as jazzed as I was to see such a unique piece. 10 out of 10 for idea and look, 6 out of 10 for functionality.
This is the top of the heat chamber. You'll notice this is where you will change your screens based on method of smoking (dry herb or concentrates). The screens with the hole in the middle as shown in Image 3 are used for the concentrate function of the device. The screen shown here is for dry herb.
This is the heat chamber open. You will fill both dry herb and concentrates from this location. Note where it says "HOT". This surface does get toasty, so don't go thinking it's not. By design, the heat is transferred up into the bowl to heat your desired product.
For dry herb functions on the PUFFiT 2, you will only need a small amount of product. I like that you dont need much, but I would like to see the unit perform better with these small quantities.
I did like how easy it was to clean the chamber after dry herb use. Following multiple attempts at the dry herb, I was able to get the chamber back to pristine condition using the tools given. The cleaning tool can also be used in the removal of your screen when switching between dry herb and concentrate functions. Always be sure to clean your dry herb screen as well. After a few attempts, the screen did become slightly clogged.
This is the concentrate spring placed in its proper location after filling. If you refer back to Image 8, you can again see the open chamber for packing in concentrates. After the concentrates are loaded the spring has a guide hole at the top to ensure proper placement. The screens with the hole in the center are used for this function, though I found no overall use for them when put in place.
The concentrate function of the PUFFiT 2 was the most frustrating. The time it took the unit to heat up seemed to melt the product out of its desired location within the chamber. When the PUFFiT 2 was ready cycle, I could not get any smoke hits or head change. Disappointing to say the least, seeing as this unit really does look and feel amazing. I just can't get it to work.
All in all, I'm torn. I truly wanted to see the PUFFiT 2 perform. When it comes to form and design, the PUFFiT 2 is extremely innovative and unique. As far as function, the PUFFiT 2 just does not stack up to the competition. With that said, I don't think the PUFFiT 2 should be abandoned. If they can get the product level up on functionality, they may just have a home run with the PUFFiT 2.
